News Media Incompetent On Terrorism

While President Obama assembles his crack team of incompetent boobs from all branches of the government to discuss our terrorism security flaws, the news media focuses on the wrong issues and concentrates on promoting a police state instead.

On news casts on all the major networks, including CNN, Fox, CBS, ABC, and NBC, reporters and commentators are focusing on promoting the use of police-state level security devices such as deadly x-ray emitting scanners for all travelers, after the recent failed bombing attempt by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, an Al Qaeda operative aboard Northwest airlines bound for the US. What they are not covering in reporting, either by incompetence or collusion with government officials, are the true issues of this case and many more than will soon arise in the weeks, months, and years to come.

Begin with the fact that Janet Napolatano has ordered the reduction of immigration security across the board, from border protection to interior enforcement to visa issuing and more by the Department of Homeland Security and we start to see how Abdulmutallab was issued an open-ended visa even though he was on the terrorist watch list. Yet, not one word of this major issue is being exposed and explored by the news media—why?

Next, examine the fact that Abdulmutallab accomplice got on the plane likely due to bribing an airport security official. Where is the investigation into this aspect and the outcry for installing new laws that make it a death sentence for anyone who accepts a bribe to breach airline security, or some near equal criminal penalty that would tend to make all officials never consider the thought of breeching security from within?

Finally, why is there no discussion of the biggest national security threat in the US—that of illegal immigration and our open borders policy that has already allowed well over 78,000 potential terrorist onto US soil, according to a 2004 INS report? Why is airline security and airports more important than interior enforcement of our immigration laws and frontline security along our borders? If terrorism is a major threat to the US, then why is the US government not taking it seriously here at home—why all the major security holes? Why are US citizens striped searched at US border crossings when any would-be terrorist can simply stroll leisurely across thousands of miles of largely unguarded US border? Where’s the common sense? Where’s the news media investigations? Where are the questions of sound journalism?

Why is the news media ignoring the true story on terrorism and focusing on promoting stronger security measures that are not needed at airports when the current security measures are not being enforced and ensured? Ask them? They will not likely respond to your questions, but try anyway—see how the news media has become so incompetent and complicit on this issue as to no longer be a trusted source for legitimate news coverage.

Sensationalism news coverage is not news at all, it’s entertainment, and the major news media organs should be shut down and replaced with more competent news gathering and reporting personnel with the needs of America and Americans in mind instead of profits—and soon if we ever want to clean up the mess our government officials have made of our country!
