Palin Red Herring For White House Bid

Posted on | November 20, 2009 | 3 Comments

Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is once again in the press with her new book tour, elevating hopes among some Republicans she may make a bid for the White House in the next election. As likeable or desirable as this may be for some Republicans, it is perhaps the single worst thing she or Republicans could do during the next presidential election.

First, Palin is equally inexperienced to the White House task as was Senator Barack Obama—Americans have learned their lesson on this subject now with Obama in the White House.

It is Obama’s combination of inexperience and his radicalized communist views, proudly touted in modern politics as “progressive” which is driving the country into unsustainable spending and new debts while killing thousands of jobs daily across America. While Obama conveniently tries to shed blame onto the last administration for today’s economy, the reality is, the Democratic Party created the banking, hence economic melt-down with the Community Redevelopment Act and other Dem Party laws of old as well as its illegal strong-arming of bankers during the Clinton and later Bush administrations—a fact Obama refuses to admit. His party took down America economically—that is the cold, hard, and undisputable fact, albeit a sad one.

The pall of impending economic collapse that now surrounds America was of deliberate forethought and making by “progressives” in the Dem Party, a group silently cheering their economic melt-down work in states like California—a treasonous group who long ago set sights on taking down America from within.

As Americans feel the sting of their economy being shut down purposly in an effort to fill the progressive agenda—the goal of which is to dramatically lower the US standard of living and consumption for all while spreading America’s wealth across the planet (even though there is no wealth to spread)—is what is driving voters to rebel yet again at the next election.

Remarkably, Obama and his failures on every level, as well as the fact he has surrounded himself with radical communist, has all but handed the next election to the Republicans. Yet, Republicans must do two things to further ensure their victory over the one term president.

One, they must reconstitute a conservative platform and forward its ideals to the public while dropping election focus off nonstarter issues that can become deal breakers, such as gay marriage and abortion—leave those aspect in the closet and pursue greater fruit focus, such as economy, reversing the Albatross healthcare bill that is set to destroy America, attack free trade in lieu of fair trade, and other issues that strengthen the economy yet shrink government and repay the national debt.

Two, Republicans must forward candidates that work voter-wise—candidates that instill confidence from their past experience and who embody the conservative ideals of the platform—candidates who are charismatic and nationally known or can be made so who voters instinctively feel can turn the economy right and restore America’s economic standing.

While Sarah Palin almost fits with aspect one, save her too out-front voice on abortion and gay rights, she does not fit aspect two in the most critical respect—experience that instills confidence. In the event she is presented by the Republican Party as candidate for the top posting, then Republicans will likely hand the election back to the Dem party for four more years of progressive destructions—California falls will look like a picnic to America’s disaster when they get through.

Republicans should gather up no less than a dozen potential but new faces for the next election and begin getting their names out in front of the American people so they can get needed exposure and be debated and known early—and then let the potential winners rise to the top to shine. Among the group should not be those who have lost White House bids before or who have worn out their luster in the public’s eye or who do not meet the two aspects listed above—people who have not already been shredded in the media (at least not yet).

A fresh face offers the hope of real change—the kind America was looking for in the last election but never got. A face that stands hard against corruption and will ensure transparency, who will reverse the damages set in place by the Dem progressives, and who will focus on the right set of priorities toward getting America’s house in order. Someone who will focus on the economy and the root causes to America’s falling standard of living and world economic standing—someone who will cut government brutally and hence begin repaying the debt from year one, not year four of their term.

To win the national elections, Republicans are going to have to distance themselves from progressives and convert to their old stance of conservative values while promoting and focusing on the key things demanded by voters—smaller and more efficient government, debt repayment, fiscal responsibility, stronger economy with higher paying jobs that raise our collective standard of living. Palin has no track record doing these things and the fact that she quit in the middle of her term speaks miles about her quitting character—Republicans should not risk placing a quitter in the White House.

As Vice President, Palin may work well but she would most likely be a limelight stealing sideshow for the media to focus on, taking much needed media attention from a primary candidate—not good.

The best play is for Republicans is to begin looking for a female candidate that fits the needs listed above, and then groom her for a White House run beginning now; while also looking for new male faces. Pinning false hopes on Palin is nothing more than a Red Herring that will push independent and Dem voters away. Likeable as she is to some, she is a nonstarter for too many others. And there are much better, more experienced and stronger candidates for a White House bid but Republicans must start flushing them out for the public to see. The next elections are easily Republican landslides unless Republicans shoot themselves in the foot–and they probably will, given their track record.
